Stardock has announced the release of Start11, its Start menu replacement for Windows 11 and Windows 10. You can use the Windows 10 or 11 Start menu, the latter with additional themes, go with a compact Windows 7 version, and other options. Stardock is releasing a new version of Start11 today, and it includes support for ungrouping apps on the Windows 11 taskbar. There’s even a Task Manager option when you right-click the taskbar. Start11 is a low-cost utility that will be welcomed by anyone who finds that Windows 11s redesigned Start menu is too dramatic a change. You can change the size of the taskbar and determine which side of the screen it appears on. You can move the Start button to the left of the taskbar, even when the taskbar buttons are centered. Today we're checking out Start11: a piece of software that brings back the old Windows 7-style start menu to Windows 11 while fitting it in with the new desi. “For this release, we’ve added several new Start menu layouts to choose from, restored context menu functionality, enabled repositioning of the taskbar, plus one of our users’ favorite features: Fences integration.” “We put the first beta out quickly in order to regain some of the lost functionality from the Windows 11 Start menu,” Stardock CEO Brad Wardell said. You can blur the wallpaper under the taskbar, use automatic color for the taskbar. Next week, Stardock will issue a major update to Start11 that dramatically improves this Start menu replacement on Windows 10 and 11. Click the Taskbar option on the left and expand the Taskbar blur, transparency, and color section.
